This transformative initiative provides critical support and opportunities that
promote personal growth, emotional well-being, and meaningful community engagement.
By addressing the underlying social, emotional, and environmental factors that contribute to youth involvement in
crime, OCCTAC's program seeks to prevent delinquency and break cycles of generational trauma. At the heart of
this initiative is a culturally responsive and therapeutic model that strengthens resilience, nurtures creativity, and
reinforces positive family dynamics.
The program's core components include:
Arts Enrichment — Youth are immersed in a variety of artistic disciplines —including music, dance, theater, and
visual arts —that cultivate self-expression, encourage creativity, and build self-confidence, while providing positive
alternatives to risky behavior.
Therapeutic Arts —Through guided, arts -based therapeutic practices, participants are supported in processing
trauma, managing emotions, and improving mental health in a safe, affirming space.
Youth and Family Counseling — Individual and group counseling sessions address emotional and behavioral
challenges, enhance communication skills, and strengthen familial bonds, fostering healthier home environments.
Parenting Classes— Parents and caregivers are equipped with practical tools and strategies to support positive
discipline, effective communication, and emotional support, all of which contribute to the prevention of youth
delinquency and the strengthening of family units.
OCCTAC's integrative and proactive approach is designed to make a lasting impact by guiding youth toward stable,
productive futures. By increasing access to mental health services, arts -based enrichment, and family support, the
program aims to reduce involvement in the juvenile justice system, improve academic performance and graduation
rates, and decrease risk factors such as incarceration and teen pregnancy. Through prevention, early intervention,
and empowerment, OCCTAC is helping to build stronger families and safer communities.
EXHIBIT A
