Poinsettia St, Santa Ana, in the Logan Lacy neighborhood. I became a partner with my
stepfather, Edward Boyce, in July of 2008. Ed purchased this property in 1978 and has since
built a successful pressure washer sales and service company.

In 2008, at the height of the recession, I moved my wife and children from Michigan to
California, with the goal of continuing our family’s legacy and improving the future for our
children. This business has meant so much to me, especially as I’ve watched it grow and
become a vital part of the community.

I am deeply concerned about the SD 84 Transit Authority proposal and how it could
potentially threaten our ability to continue this family legacy. This is especially significant to
me given my son’s rare genetic health condition, that has left him blind and which limits his
independence. It has always been my hope that he would work alongside me, learn the trade,
and grow into an independent adult. This year marks a significant milestone as he has just
recently turned 18.

Over the past 15 years, I’ve strived to enhance the business which includes the Boyce
Industries property—both inside and out—breathing new life into an older structure. Like
many other local business owners have shared, our company, Boyce Industries, has also
been a strong supporter of the community, providing jobs and teaching young people
valuable skills that will help them in the future. We are invested in this neighborhood and
the people who reside within these boundaries, and we care deeply about its well-being.

Planning Commission 1 – 163 3/6/2025
