<br />RESOURCES COMMISSION
<br />The City of Santa Ana encourages the
<br />public to participate in the decision-
<br />making process.We encourage you to

<br />Historic Resources Commission
<br />Action:The Historic Resources
<br />Commission will hold a Public Hearing to
<br />receive public testimony,and will take
<br />action on the item described below.Their
<br />decision is final unless appealed to the
<br />City Council within 10 days of the decision
<br />by any interested party or group.
<br />Project Location:625 South Cypress
<br />Avenue located in the Two-Family
<br />Residential (R2)Zoning District.
<br />Project Applicant:City of Santa Ana
<br />Project Description:The City of Santa
<br />Ana (owner and applicant)is
<br />requesting approval of Historic
<br />Exterior Modification Application
<br />(HEMA)No.2023-08.Specifically,the
<br />request is to allow exterior
<br />modifications consisting of a partial
<br />restoration and rehabilitation of the
<br />historic Cypress Fire Station,listed as
<br />“Key”on the Santa Ana Register of
<br />Historical Properties.The primary
<br />(west)façade will be fully restored,
<br />along with some portions of the north
<br />and south facades,and a 964-square-
<br />foot non-original and non-contributing
<br />rear addition will be removed.New
<br />interior configurations of the existing
<br />space,and alterations relating to
<br />Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
<br />compliance,will require rehabilitation
<br />of exterior features,including
<br />removal/relocation of some doors and
<br />windows on secondary facades.
<br />Environmental Impact:Pursuant to the
<br />California Environmental Quality Act
<br />(CEQA)and the CEQA Guidelines,the
<br />project is exempt from further review
<br />under Section 15331,Class 31,as this
<br />action is designed to preserve a historic
<br />resource.Categorical Exemption No.ER-
<br />2023-108 will be filed for this project.
<br />Meeting Details:This matter will be
<br />heard on Thursday,November 2,2023,
<br />at 4:30 p.m.in the City Council
<br />Chambers,22 Civic Center Plaza,Santa
<br />Ana,CA 92701.Members of the public
<br />may attend this meeting in-person or
