A <br />false sense of history will not be created by adding conjectural features, features <br />from other properties, or by combining features that never existed together <br />historically. <br />The project complies with Restoration Standard No. 7. The primary (west) façade <br />will be restored based on photographic evidence and architectural plans of the <br />original, 1928 façade prior to later modifications. The secondary and rear façade <br />restoration items will also be based on original architectural plans. A false sense <br />of history will not be created as no conjectural features, features from other <br />properties, or combining features that never existed together historically, will be <br />undertaken. <br />8. Standard for Rehabilitation No. 8 - Archeological resources will be protected and <br />preserved in place. If such resources must be disturbed, mitigation measures will <br />be undertaken. <br />Standard for Rehabilitation No. 8 does not apply as there are no known <br />archeological resources onsite. <br />Standard for Restoration No. 8 - Chemical or physical treatments, if appropriate, <br />will be undertaken using the gentlest means possible. Treatments that cause <br />damage to historic materials will not be used. <br />The project complies with Restoration Standard No. 8. Chemical or physical <br />treatments are not currently proposed as part of this project. However, if simple <br />cleaning does not provide appropriate removal of dirt, the project will be allowed <br />to undergo possible chemical or physical treatments, as conditioned. These <br />treatments will cause no damage to historic materials and be undertaken using the <br />gentlest means possible. <br />9. Standard for Rehabilitation No. 9 - New additions, exterior alterations, or related <br />new construction will not destroy historic materials, features, and spatial <br />relationships that characterize the property. The new work shall be differentiated <br />from the old and will be compatible with the historic materials, features, size, scale <br />and proportion, and massing to protect the integrity of the property and its <br />environment. <br />The project complies with Standard for Rehabilitation No. 9. The primary (west) <br />façade will be fully restored and a non-compatible rear addition will be removed. <br />Exterior alterations to the secondary (north and south) and rear (east) facades will <br />not destroy historic materials, features, and spatial relationships that characterize <br />the property.
