Poinsettia Street) RECOMMENDED ACTION Adopt a resolution approving Historic Resources Commission Application No. 2025-06 and Historic Register Categorization No. 2025-05 (Exhibit 1). EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Carol Park is requesting approval to designate an existing Spanish Colonial Revival-style residence located at 2429 N. Poinsettia Street to the Santa Ana Register of Historical Properties. The property qualifies for listing in the Santa Ana Register of Historical Properties under Criterion 1 as an intact example of a Spanish Colonial Revival-style house. It is also worthy of “Contributive” categorization as it contributes to the history and character of its neighborhood as an example of the Spanish Colonial Revival style, including its stuccoed exterior walls, clay-barrel-tile roofing, and multi-pane wood-sash windows. DISCUSSION Project Location and Site Description The subject property is located on a corner lot with Poinsettia Street to the west and Edgewood Road to the north, in the Park Santiago neighborhood in Santa Ana. The site contains a 1,412-square-foot, Spanish Colonial Revival-style residence and detached garage on a 7,840-square-foot residential lot (Exhibits 3 and 4). Analysis of the Issues Historical Listing In March 1999, the City Council approved Ordinance No. NS-2363 establishing the Historic Resources Commission and the Santa Ana Register of Historical Properties.
