Flores, Dora
From: Michael Hartridge <
Sent: Tuesday, September 16, 2025 5:15 PM
To: eComment
Subject: SOCCER FIELD ACCESS ISSUES - LA ACADEMIA
Attention: This email originated from outside of City of Santa Ana. Use caution when opening attachments or links.
Hello,
My son is member of the LA Academia youth soccer club and I feel the need to chime in on this matter.
The City of Santa Ana has an incredible opportunity to continue creating a lasting impact by granting filed
access to the academy who's dedicated to serving the city's young people. By securing this space for youth
soccer, the city ensures a safe, consistent, and structured environment where kids and teens can learn, grow, and
connect through their love for soccer. Besides churning out the next big star, the club provides mentorship,
educational support, life skills training, and recreational activities that not only enrich lives but also can help
reduce risks tied to crime, school truancy, and disengagement. Granting this access is critical to maintain
program continuity, build trust with families, and maximize participation, ensuring the facility becomes a true
cornerstone for youth development in Santa Ana.
By allowing this space to the academy, Santa Ana invests in outcomes that are both measurable and meaningful,
higher graduation rates, increased job readiness, and stronger community engagement. Together, this
collaboration represents more than access to a facility, it's a commitment to building the next generation of
soccer players or even potential leaders for the city of Santa Ana.
Best regards,
Michael.
