~' <br />7, STAFF MEMBER COMMENTS <br />Pak Whitaker <br />Reminded everyone that the City Council was meeting this evening at the <br />Police Department due to the holiday. <br />• Mentioned that there is currently a lot of developer interest -- developers <br />are contacting us frequently. <br />Everyone is looking forward to the next phase of the Santiago Lofts and to <br />the next Harrah project. <br />Nanc Edwards <br />Thanked Chairperson Macres and Commissioner Stroud #or their <br />participation on the all-day ESG interview panel on Wednesday, January <br />'{ 1. <br />l-1 <br />g, COMMISSION MEMBER COMMENTS <br />Commissioner Yanez <br />Inquired as to which project was ongoing at Raitt and McFadden and when <br />completion was anticipated. Staff replied that the project is a continuation <br />school and they will report back on the completion date. <br />Asked which agency was responsible for paving the streets within the City <br />and if staff was aware of what federal funding is available. Mrs. Whitaker <br />stated that the Public Works Agency is responsible far paving the streets. <br />She will acquire a paving schedule from PWA and inquire as to any federal <br />funding available. <br />Welcomed Commissioners Soto and Jauregui. <br />Commissioner Stroud <br />Welcomed Commissioners Soto and Jauregui, <br />Inquired about the French Park units on 9th Street that have been <br />converted into alcoholldrug rehab homes and as to whether the City has <br />any control over this. Mrs. Storck will check the regulation and also <br />request an update from Ben Kaufman, who works with the Planning <br />Commission. Staff will check with Planning and Building to see if a map of <br />these rehab homes is available. <br />Commissioner Soto <br />Inquired about the status of the pedestrian safety issue for Garfield <br />Elementary students on Santa Ana Boulevard.
