COMMISSION MEMBER COMMENTS <br />Commissioner Leon <br />• Noted that the piles of dirt in the lot on Parton, right across the street <br />from Starbucks, have been covered up, and signs have been installed. <br />Thanked staff. <br />• Stated that the Latino Health Access fundraiser, Salsa Fiesta, would <br />be held at The Grove in Anaheim on Friday, October 22, 6:30 p.m. <br />Added that it is always a "fun" event and invited everyone to attend. <br />• Informed the Commissioners and staff that the Downtown Restaurant <br />Association is planning to start a ped-bicyle service for the Downtown <br />Restaurants. Although the service would be free of charge, special <br />promotions, such as 2 for 1, would be offered. Added that a new <br />Downtown Restaurant has taken the idea, and has started its own <br />service. Asked that everyone support the service provided by the <br />Restaurant Association, <br />Commissioner Rodriguez <br />• Thanked the BID Ad Hoc Committee and his fellow Commissioners for <br />their work and input on the BID process. <br />• Reminded everyone to attend the BID Community Forum on Tuesday, <br />October 12, 7:30 a.m. at the Santa Ana Performing Arts and Events <br />Center. <br />Chair erson Sarmien#o <br />• Thanked staff for their patience during the long meeting. <br />• Thanked Jay Trevino for his excellent PowerPoint presentation. <br />• Noted that set-aside affordable housing was to be provided for the <br />Olson Lofts. Questioned if this was for the whole project or just the <br />East Village portion.
