REGULAR MEETING OF AUGUST 19, 200$ <br />*** END OF CONSENT CALENDAR *** <br />WORK STUDY SESSION <br />Vice Chairperson Villasenor arrived at 6:07 p.m. <br />2. GO LOCAL PROGRAM -Dave Biondolilla, Public Works Agency <br />Mr. Biondolillo provided a PowerPoint presentation and a video on the Cities <br />of Santa Ana and Garden Grove's transit vision and Go Local project concept. <br />He explained the various aspects of the project including the potential for <br />eminent domain. Highlights included: <br />• Funds of $750 million are available for the project. <br />• Anticipated completion date is in approximately four years. <br />• The three major components include: the modern streetcar; the Santa <br />Ana Regional Transportation Center expansion and improvements; and <br />the multi-modal use of Pacific Electric right-of-way. <br />• The key dates include: <br />• May 12, 2008 -Allocation of $5.9 million from OCTA Board to <br />Santa Ana for additional analysis of the project. <br />• June 2, 2008 -- Request far Qualifications (RFQs} were sent to <br />14 firms, The RFQs are currently being reviewed by an <br />Evaluation Committee. <br />• September 2, 2008 -Santa Ana City Council approved the <br />Cooperative Agreement with OCTA to proceed with the technical <br />studies. <br />• October 31, 2008 -Request for Proposals released to qualified <br />firms. <br />CRMC Ml~flJTES 2 October 7, 2008 <br />
