Nelson <br />• Welcomed Michelle Leon as the new student member of the Commission f <br />and looks forward to having heron the Commission, <br />• Provided an update on the February 2 Council item regarding the <br />restructuring of the City's boards and commissions, which included a cost <br />analysis from staff as requested by Council. The item was continued for <br />30 days to allow all the various board/commission members an opportunity <br />to submit any comments andlor substantive suggestions to the Clerk of the <br />Council to be compiled for the March Council meeting, Council <br />encouraged the chairpersons to meet if they so desired. Council is open to <br />suggestions and is seeking more efficient ways of conducting city <br />business. Ms. Nelson requested that commissioners copy her on any <br />comments/suggestions sent to the Clerk of the Council. <br />• Mentioned that Cal State University, FuNerton will be holding a series of <br />activities in March to celebrate the 10f~' anniversary of the Grand Central <br />Art Center, This includes a formal ceremony an March 7 at 1 p.m. with the <br />Mayor and the University President in attendance, which will also coincide <br />with the monthly "Artist Village" open house. <br />• Mentioned the opening of the Lola Gaspar restaurant on Second Street, <br />• Mentioned that Ciao's restaurant is currently closed; however, it may <br />reopen in the near future. <br />• Mentioned the possibility of outdoor seating at Proof on Broadway. <br />CRHC MINUTES ~ <br />February 3, 2009 <br />
