AMENDMENT TO MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br /> BETWEEN THE CITY OF SANTA ANA AND THE r. <br /> ' SANTA ANA POLICE OFFICERS ASSOCIATION FOR <br /> FISCAL YEARS 1993-95 <br /> The Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Santa Ana and <br /> the Santa Ana Police Officers Association for Fiscal Years 1993-95, <br /> executed on October 18, 1993 , is hereby amended as follows : <br /> 1 . Section 5 of Article III, "Attendance, Workday and Workweek" <br /> is amended by adding a new Section "5" to read as follows : <br /> Section 5 Definition of terms for employees assigned to 6/12 + 8 <br /> hours work schedule . <br /> A. "Employees" referred to in this section are those assigned to <br /> the following classes and assignments : <br /> CLASS POSITION ASSIGNMENT <br /> Forensic Specialist I Crime Scene Investigator <br /> Forensic Specialist II Crime Scene Investigator <br /> Police Service Dispatcher Dispatch Center <br /> Police Communications Supervisor Dispatch Center <br /> B. WORKDAY <br /> o Effective February, 1994 and terminating with the expiration <br /> of this agreement, a workday for the above stated classes and <br /> position assignments shall be either 12 hours or eight hours <br /> with an additional 30 minutes for unpaid meal time . <br /> C. WORK PERIOD, WORKWEEK <br /> 5 o The regular "work period" for employees assigned to this work <br /> schedule shall be six (6) twelve (12) hour workdays and one <br /> (1) eight (8) hour workday in each two week period. A thirty <br /> (30) minute non-paid meal time shall be scheduled each <br /> workday. A workweek consisting of seven (7) consecutive <br /> calendar days and forty (40) work hours shall be assigned to <br /> each employee assigned to this work schedule . Employees shall <br /> regularly work eighty (80) hours in a "work period" and forty <br /> (40) hours in a seven day workweek. <br /> o Employees who are on a 6/12 + 8 hour schedule will earn time <br /> and a half when they work over the normal schedule of 12 hours <br /> on a 12-hour day and 8 hours on a 8-hour day. <br /> D. EARNED TIME USAGE <br /> o The usage of earned leave such as holidays, vacations, sick <br /> leave, and other paid and unpaid leave will be calculated <br /> based on the "day" of the work schedule utilized as a day off . <br />
