Effective the date of City Council adoption of this 2025-2028 MOU, the maximum <br />total unused sick leave that can be converted by an employee covered by this MOU <br />to additional service credit at the time of retirement shall be forty-four (44) eight <br />(8) hour working days equal to three hundred fifty-two (352) hours. Employees <br />hired on or after a contract amendment between the City and CalPERS shall not be <br />eligible to convert unused sick leave to CalPERS for service credit. <br />D. The City must report only those days of unused sick leave that were accrued by the <br />employee during the normal course of employment. This section applies to <br />employees whose effective date of retirement is within four (4) months of <br />separation from employment. <br /> Military Service Credit as Public Service. An employee shall be permitted to purchase up <br />to four (4) years of service credit for any continuous active military or merchant marine <br />service prior to employment. The employee must contribute an amount equal to the <br />contribution for current and prior service that the employee and the employer would have <br />made with respect to that period of service. <br /> <br />13.6
