FREE RECORDING PURSUANT TO <br />GOVERNMENT CODE § 27383 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2026-XX <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE HISTORIC RESOURCES <br />COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING <br />HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION APPLICATION NO. <br />2025-14 TO PLACE THE PROPERTY LOCATED AT 1402 S. <br />BIRCH STREET, SANTA ANA, ON THE HISTORICAL <br />REGISTER AND APPROVING HISTORIC REGISTER <br />CATEGORIZATION NO. 2025-11 PLACING SAID <br />PROPERTY WITHIN THE CONTRIBUTIVE CATEGORY <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HISTORIC RESOURCES COMMISSION OF THE <br />CITY OF SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The Historic Resources Commission of the City of Santa Ana hereby <br />finds, determines, and declares as follows: <br />A. On January 29, 2026, the Historic Resources Commission held a duly <br />noticed public hearing for the placement on the Santa Ana Register of <br />Historical Properties (Historic Resources Commission Application No. <br />2025-14) and categorization (Historic Resources Commission <br />Categorization No. 2025-11) of the Joy House located at 1402 S. Birch <br />Street, Santa Ana. <br />B. The Joy House has distinctive architectural features of the Minimal <br />Traditional style and was built in 1947. <br />C. The Joy House qualifies for listing in the Santa Ana Register of Historical <br />Properties under Criterion 1 as an intact example of a Minimal Traditional <br />style home in Santa Ana. The house displays characteristics of the Minimal <br />Traditional style through its use of its asymmetrical main fagade, gable -on - <br />hip roof, and two -over -two windows, among other original features. The <br />recommended categorization is "Contributive" because it has a distinctive <br />architectural style and quality reflective of the Minimal Traditional style. <br />Character -defining features of the Joy House include but may not be limited <br />to: its asymmetrical main facade composition; horizontal plank and stucco <br />siding; gable -on -hip roof form; open eaves with exposed rounded rafters; <br />two glass block windows along north facade; and historic glazed wood front <br />door. <br />D. The legal owners of the property are Nicholas Steven Timmons and Laura <br />Michelle Trudeau, Husband and Wife as Community Property with Right of <br />Survivorship. <br />E. The legal description for the subject property is attached hereto as Exhibit <br />A and incorporated by this reference as though fully set forth herein. <br />Resolution No. 2026-xx <br />Page 1 of 6 <br />
