Attorney Glave attempted to coordinate a Skelly Hearing with City Manager Ridge based on <br /> 5 the facts of this investigation and Chief Valentin's direct involvement - an attempt that was ultimately <br /> 6 unsuccessful. <br /> 7 <br /> 107. On March 16,2022,CARDENAL received a"Notice ofAdverse-Removal ofAssignments" <br /> 8 <br /> 9 via which ChiefValentin informedCARDENAL of Chief Valentin's"decision to REMOVE[CARDENAL] <br /> 10 from [his] current assignments as a Corporal and Field 'Training Officer with the Santa Ana Police <br /> 11 Department, effective immediately." <br /> 12 <br /> 108. The instant action results. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 FIRST CAUSE OF ACTION <br /> 15 RETALIATION IN VIOLATION OF LABOR CODE §1102.5 <br /> 16 (Against All DEFENDANTS) <br /> 17 <br /> 109.
