Um, and I had just returned from vacation. So I had only <br />been in there a week. <br />TOTH: Okay. In total at Santa Ana Police Department, how long have you been a <br />correctional or a custodial officer? <br />FERNANDEZ: 13 years. <br />TOTH: 13 years? Okay. And did you receive any formal training where you, uh, <br />received an, a certification to be a custodial officer? <br />FERNANDEZ: Yes. <br />TOTH: when and where was that? <br />FERNANDEZ: Um, 199-. Uh, 19, er-, 2000-. Wait, *** 2007. Um, it would of been 2007 <br />I got hired, 2008, uh, is when we, uh, I went through the academy for the <br />Orange County Sheriff’s Department. That was our acad-, that’s where <br />they sent us to the academy. <br />TOTH: Okay. <br />FERNANDEZ: Prior to that I had gone through, um, LASD Sheriff’s Academy. So, um, I <br />was a custody assistant in LASD for two years. <br />TOTH: Okay. So 13 years here with Santa Ana PD.
