Use caution when opening attachments or links. <br />Re: Council Meeting of March 17, 2026 <br /> <br />Subject: Item #8 – Measure X <br /> <br />With respect to the Council Meeting of March 17, 2026 I did want to express that should Measure X go on any <br />future ballot – I would vote “yes”. I do not want to see it “sunset”. I have no issue paying a higher city tax in <br />return for all of the services Measure X has provided to the community. <br /> <br />However, on April 20, 2026, the OC Register wrote an article stating that the Measure X oversight committee <br />has not met in seven months due to a few Wards not having a representative. If there is no oversight committee, <br />then who determines where these funds go? According to the OC Register there are more than $82 million in <br />taxpayer funds, and the city has spent $73.2 million. <br /> <br />It is in the best interest to maintain the integrity of these taxpayer funds. If not, it will leave most voters <br />questioning where their monies are spent and if monies spent truly benefit us the residents and not be deemed a <br />“fiscal Band-Aid” as the OC Register noted. <br /> <br /> <br />Thank you, <br /> <br />Gay Olivos <br />Ward 5 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br />
