I asked several people standing in the north east corner <br />of Ches.tnut Ave. and Main Street to back up, so we can secure the crime scene. <br />During that time. Sergeaiit Shinn asked me to look for witness. I located witness on the southeast <br />corner of the intersection. She was identified by her CA driver license. <br /> told me she was inside the restaurant, "Lucky Guy Burgers," when she saw several Santa Aria <br />Police Units with their lights and sirens traveling northbound on Main St. She said she decided to go <br />outsidei and take a look. <br />While standing on the soritheast corner of Chestnut and Main St. She noticed that the police had stopped <br />a white truck. She did not have a clear view of the white truck, however she heard the police yelling at <br />the driver of the truck. She heard the police officers saying "Put the gun down, don't do it." She said she <br />heard the police officers yell that about 3 times. <br />She said the police officers gave tlie subject, "more then enough chances." said she tliought to <br />herself, "What the heck is this guy doing, put the gun down." <br />She said she then saw a officer with a long gun, walk northbound along the west sidewalk of Main St. <br />While she was looking bt that officer walking, she lieard about 6-8 gun shots. said she did not have <br />a clear view of the critne scene, only heard the officer yelling at the subject to "put the gun down" and <br />"don't do it" several times. <br />I staye.d in the crime scene assisting with crowd control and traffic control until about 1625 hours, when <br />I was relieved by Officer J.
