Tabb and I interviewed SAPD Ofc. Sal Lopez #3230 at the <br />Santa Ana Police Department. The following is a brief stunmary of our interview. Refer to OCDA <br />report and audio recording for details. <br />Ofc. Lopez has been an police officer for approximately five years and is c'iurently assigned to the Civic <br />Center Patrol Team. On the date of this OIS, he was working in a black and white police vehicle when <br />he lieard a radio call of an assault with a deadly weapon on Cypress Avenue. Ofc. Lopez responded - - <br />from the area of 17th and Flower Streets. There was a lot of radio traffic and he heard that the suspect <br />vehicle had stopped at Main and Pine Streets. Ofc. Lopez heard a motor officer give the license plate of <br />the suspect vehicle. <br />Ofc. Lopez atrived and stopped on Pine Street, -west of Main Street in order to block traffic. Ofc. Lopez -- -- <br />walked towards the Mill Bakery on tlie west side of Main Street and saw Ofc. Shifflett standing behind a <br />tree in front of hini. Ofc. Shifflett was facing towards the street where tlie suspect vehicle had stopped. <br />Ofc. Lopez stood behind a blue Ford Econoline van, approximately 10 feet north of Ofc.
