Sari:ta A.na PD 2015-06456: Supplemental Report by #2771 Page 3 of 3 <br />On Wednesday, 03/1 1/2015 I responded to the area of Sycamore Street and Pine Street to assist with <br />traffic control for high risk felony car stop on a 245 suspect. I arrived at approximately 1306 hours and <br />assiste6 with traffic and crowd control. Dispatch redirected me to the 800 block of South Cypress Street <br />to aSsiSt with the original 245 scene. When I was relieved, I responded to Cypress Street and arrived at <br />approximately 1309 hours. Officers Sontag and Greaver were already on scene interviewing witnesses. <br />I assisted officer Greaver with crime scene tape then located witness who was standing <br />on the west sidewalk in front of 814 S. Cypress Street. Just before I began to interview <br />Corporal J. Mendoza arrived on scene to assist. I briefly spoke with Corporal J. Mendoza then focused <br />my attentions on <br />I then it'iterviewed wl'io told me the following information. said she is the <br /> located at 814 S. Cypress Street in the City of Santa Aria and she resides in <br /> escorted me to her unit wlffch is located at the southwest corner of her complex. I <br />entered the unit and lead me into her kitchen. physically stood in front of her gas <br />range with her back facing the south wall of her kitclien. I could see there were two south facing <br />windows in her kitchen that overlooked the business parking lot of 815 S. Main Street where the assault <br />with a cleadly weapon occurred. aid as she was cooking a meal for her family when she heard <br />one gunshot coming from this parking lot. hen physically turned around and pointed to the <br />window that was directly behind her. As was looking outside she pointed at the victim who was <br />standirig in the parking lot and speaking with officer Sontag. stated, "I saw him run towards <br />Cypress Street then he turned around and started to run towards Main Street. said the expression <br />on the victims face was that of extreme fear. then physically moved herself over to the second <br />window in the kitchen which gave a little better view of the parking lot. said she could her <br />tlie victim scream, "Help Me, Help Me." <br /> said from this window she could see two unknown males in bright orange tee-shirts exit a truck <br />and wailk over to the victim. said she never saw who fired a gun nor did she see the vehicle <br />involved. said :';ihe exited her apartment and walked out to Cypress Street where she saw the <br />victim pacing back and forth in the parking lot. said the victim was speaking to someone on his <br />cellular phone and he seemed scared. I asked wliy she believed she heard a gun shot and she <br />replied, "There was a sliooting in my apartment complex before, so I could tell the noise was a gun <br />shot." X ended my interview with <br />At approximately 1337 Riorirs, Officers Moreno and Valenzuela arrived and assisted with perimeter <br />contro'J. Sergeant Smith arrived moments later and took over for Corporal Mendoza as scene <br />supervisor. Sergeant Smith directed officers Valenzuela, Moreno and myself to remain at the scene until <br />CSI aui't CAP detectives completed their investigation.
