Shifflett #3264 Involvement:Other Agency:SAPD Vehicle: Involvement: Description: License Plate: Pickup Truck Suspect / Impounded 2005 TOYOTA Tacoma, Pick Up, White CA, Reg 07/2015 Registered owner: Legal owner:Benito Osorio Narrative: On 03/11/15, Alberto Mendoza-Hernandez was the victim of an Attempted Murder which occurred in the area of 800 S. Cypress/Main Street in the city of Santa Ana, CA. After the commission of the aforementioned crime, the suspect, later identified as Benito Osorio, fled the scene in his white 2005 Toyota Tacoma, bearing the California license plate assigned number and later became involved in an Officer Involved Shooting (OIS) which occurred in the area of 200 S. Main Street. During investigation into this OIS, SAPD Patrol Division Officer S. Diaz#3 147 was identified as a witness officer to the incident. At approximately 1810 hours, QC DA Investigator D. Fulcher and I conducted an interview with Officer Diaz. This interview was conducted within an interview room located within the SAPD Investigations Bureau and audio-recorded by DA Inv. Fulcher. Subsequent to the interview, DA Inv. Fulcher retained custody of said recording. Below is a synopsis of the interview conducted with Officer Diaz.
