Uh, we <br />obviously saw he had…at this time we were all lined up we saw that he <br />had a gun in his hand and he was going to, uh, it looked like he was gonna <br />shoot himself under the chin. Uh, DAVE proceeded to call both Spanish <br />and English ordering him out, drop the gun and, uh, and all of sudden he, <br />he discharges the gun and shoots himself under the chin. We set up a <br />team to go check on him from the passenger side of the truck and we see <br />that he’s still conscious and, uh, he actually looks toward us a little bit <br />and with, with the gun in hand. And then he sets down the gun I believe <br />and picks up a cell phone and he starts a conversation with someone on <br />the cell phone. Uh, that lasted for I’m gonna say 90 minutes. <br />GOLDWASSER: 90 minutes? <br />SWEET: Over…it was over like two me-,…no, 90 seconds. Two minutes. Uh, 90 <br />minutes. And, uh, puts down the, the, uh, cell phone and, uh, looks *** <br />gathering himself, you know he grabs the gun, and completely kicks the <br />door open, and he comes out with the gun in his hand and, uh, as soon <br />he gets out I see him with the gun I, I discharge my weapon. Three times <br />and, uh, that was it. <br />SMITH: Okay. (PAUSE) Um, I’m gonna show you a picture I’ve labeled number <br />one, I’ve showed some other officers it might have some writing on it. <br />Can you maybe help me identify where your vehicle was or your unit if <br />it’s even pictured in this? <br />SWEET: Yeah, this would be it.
