SA. 15-005 <br />Supervising Investigator: MARK GUTIERREZ Date of Report: 03/12/2015 <br /> <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />stating he had a gun; and a male Hispanic adult was seen fleeing the area in a white Toyota <br />truck. Santa Ana Police officers responded to the area and located a white Toyota truck bearing <br />license plate #7X06303 leaving the area. The truck travelled north on South Main Street from <br />West Chestnut Avenue and stopped in the #2 lane of South Main Street. Numerous marked <br />Santa Ana Police units arrived on scene and parked south on the Toyota truck. <br /> The suspect, later identified as BENITO OSORIO, ignored the commands of the police <br />officers on scene and refused to exit the truck. OSORIO then armed himself with a pistol and <br />shot himself in the head. The self-inflicted gunshot wound did not incapacitate OSORIO and he <br />remained seated in the truck. Several minutes later, OSORIO exited the truck armed with a <br />semi-automatic pistol and was shot several times by officers on scene. <br /> Orange County Fire Authority paramedics responded to the shooting incident scene and <br />treated OSORIO for multiple gunshot wounds, and transported him to Western Medical Center- <br />Santa Ana.
