Description of Work - In the space below, describe the program to be funded during the 12 -month contract period. <br />What specific activities will be undertaken during the contract period. Only the <br />VICWCIUM bpdL;u Will P1111L. <br />The program intends to help homeless individuals and families escape the streets for a night during <br />the cold weather months. Potential clients can wait at designated bus stops to be picked up and <br />taken to the Armory sites. All potential clients will be screened at intake. They are provided a snack <br />after intake, dinner at night, a mattress with blankets to sleep on, access to shower facilities, and <br />breakfast in the morning. By providing security guards and nightly property checks, Mercy House <br />provides a safe refuge for those on the streets of Orange County. The Armory also serves as an <br />access point to connect clients with additional supportive services to help address their immediate <br />needs. Some examples of service linkages include food stamps, Medi -Cal, Children and Family <br />Services, and housing resources. With the agency's connections to local volunteer and service <br />groups, additional resources can be provided to the clients. On a nightly basis the staff would work <br />to provide a decent, clean environment for the clients. <br />Schedule of Performance <br />Estimate the number of unduplicated Santa Ana residents to be served by the funded program during the 12 -month <br />contract period per quarter.
