On Sunday, December 1, 2024, I was working uniformed patrol with my partner Officer E. Burkey #3792, wearing a <br />distinct police uniform and driving a marked black and white Santa Ana Police patrol vehicle. At approximately 1733 <br />hours, we responded to the area of N. Broadway, and W. 2nd Street in reference to an officer involved shooting <br />incident. <br />Officer Burkey and I arrived at approximately 1736 hours. On arrival, Officer Burkey and I began setting up crime <br />scene tape in the area of N. Broadway and W. 4th Street. After setting up crime scene tape, I was tasked with holding <br />scene security at the intersection of N. Broadway and W. 2nd Street. <br />At approximately 1823 hours, I was relieved of my position and signed out from the crime scene log. <br />This concluded my assistance in the incident. <br />Officer D. Rocheford #3823, and I, Officer S. Gonzales #3829, were <br />working uniformed patrol in the City of Santa Ana. Officer Rocheford was driving and I was seated in the front <br />passenger seat of the marked black and white Santa Ana Police vehicle. <br />  <br />It shall be noted that during the incident my department-issued Axon body worn camera (BWC) was activated <br />and recording. All statements made below are summarizations of the facts and circumstances that shall not <br />be taken as all-encompassing of the event. For exact dialogue and sequence of events see BWC footage. <br />  <br />At approximately 1733 hours, I heard a broadcast via the radio of officers involved in a shooting in the area of 200 N. <br />Broadway. Due to the exigent circumstances, Officer Rocheford and I responded with emergency lights and sirens to <br />further assist. <br />At approximately 1734 hours, Officer Rocheford and I arrived on scene. Officer Rocheford parked our patrol vehicle <br />blocking northbound lanes of traffic on Broadway just north of 1st Street. When I exited the front passenger seat of <br />our marked patrol vehicle, I observed Officer Casillas standing at his patrol vehicle’s front driver door with the door  <br />open. <br />I approached Officer Casillas and observed a male subject lying on the ground of the west sidewalk of Broadway. <br />Santa Ana PD 2024-26142 Report by Enriquez, David 3082 51 of 90
