I then drove eastbound to the area of 1st St. and Grand Avenue and was again unable to locate anyone matching the <br />suspect description. <br />Officer Marin #3781, Officer Raygoza #3733, Officer Egg #3929, and Officer Juardo #3930 all noted that they were <br />unable to locate the suspect. <br />There were no additional calling parties. <br />I noted that I was unable to locate the suspect and cleared from the call. <br />Shooting Response <br />At approximately 1733 hours, SAPD Officers stated that they were out with an armed subject in the area of 2nd St and <br />Broadway. They then broadcasted that an officer involved shooting had occurred. <br />I responded to the scene from the area of 2116 E. 1st St. Upon my arrival, I observed an SAPD unit in the area of 116 <br />N. Broadway. The vehicle was facing westbound towards the Casa Linda Furniture Store. Responding officers were <br />taking up positions of cover behind the vehicle. <br />I also observed a male, later identified as , laying face up on the sidewalk, approximately 10-15 yards <br />from the front of the SAPD vehicle.   <br />I was assigned to locate a ballistic shield and retrieved one from the back of a SAPD unit located in the area of 3rd <br />and Broadway.   <br />I then returned to the area of 116 N. Broadway and took up a position near the driver’s side door of the SAPD unit. <br />I was designated to operate the ballistic shield and approach with a team of Officers in order to take him <br />into custody and render medical aid. <br />Utilizing the SAPD patrol vehicle and ballistic shield as cover, we approached .
