There were two themes equally mentioned most high (37% each <br />for a total of 74%): <br />.Programs <br />.Collaborative Approach <br />Most of the other mentions (18 or 21%) were under the theme: <br />.Place within a Place <br />The importance of "Safety" as a theme was also mentioned 4 times (5%) and "Housing" was <br />mentioned once. ANALYSIS <br />Most participants saw this outcome as a place within a place. Schools, parks, and recreational open <br />space play a key part, along with appropriate meeting facilities. This special place provides the <br />resources and services necessary to support health and healthy behaviors. One way to describe this <br />"place" is a "Wellness Campus were programs are provided by various organizations in a collaborative <br />way with maximum community participation. Having childcare is critical to make sure parents can be <br />engaged and empowered. <br />It was clear that the recreational open space is a significant need as well as providing a diversity of <br />programs that are delivered in a culturally sensitive way. Specific collaborative approaches were <br />suggested such as joint-use, and the leveraging of existing programs and services. What was important <br />to many is programs by organizations that had lasting power.
