OCDA Personnel:Gonzales, Carlos 349 <br />Involvement:Reporting 4/13/2023 <br />OCDA Personnel:Berry, Stan 235 <br />Involvement:Approving 4/19/2023 <br />On April 11, 2023, at approximately 08:55 hours, Santa Ana Police Department (SAPD) Detective EDDIE NUNEZ <br />and I conducted an audio digital recorded interview of MARVIN MELGAREJO as he was in-custody at the Orange <br />County Global Medical Center (OCGMC) Room #420. <br />The following is a summary of the interview. It is not verbatim or necessarily in order of the conversation, but <br />organized for the purpose of clarity. Please refer to the audio recording for exact quotes, comments and statements. <br />SAPD Detective EDDIE NUNEZ and I contacted MELGAREJO as he was recovering from his injuries at OCGMC. <br />NUNEZ advised MELGAREJO of his Miranda Rights before any questions were asked. MELGAREJO refused to <br />provide a statement and requested an attorney. I asked MELGAREJO if he recalled the incident, and the police <br />being possibly involved. MELGAREJO said he knew the police were involved in the shooting, but he did not want to <br />elaborate without his attorney present.
