SYNOPSIS <br />On Saturday, April 08, 2023, at approximately 0823 hours, my partner, Officer C. Ruelas <br />#3824, was passenger and I, Officer Gonzales #3829, were working uniformed patrol in <br />the City of Santa Ana. We were working a two-man unit in which Officer Ruelas #3824 <br />was the front passenger and I was driving. We were driving a clearly marked black and <br />white Santa Ana Police vehicle and wearing marked Santa Ana Police uniforms. <br />It shall be noted that during the incident my department-issued Axon 2 body worn camera <br />(BWC) was activated and recording. All statements made below are summarizations of <br />the facts and circumstances that shall not be taken as all-encompassing of the event. For <br />exact dialogue and sequence of events see BWC footage. <br />Watch Three Officers relayed information pertaining to an assault with a deadly weapon <br />(firearm) which occurred on Friday, April 07, 2023. The outstanding suspect vehicle had a <br />description of a two tone brown and black Chevrolet Suburban. <br />We were conducting a patrol check in the area of 1506 W. 3UG Street. <br />While I was driving east, in front of 1506 W. 3rd 6WUHHW , REVHUYHG D WZR WRQHG EURZQ <br />and black 1993 Chevrolet Suburban bearing a California license plate of 4ZMU186 <br />parked along the north curb line facing west. The vehicle matched the description of the <br />suspect vehicle involved in the assault with a deadly weapon incident. <br />The vehicle¶s registered owner was Valdivia, Felipe V with an address of 1318 W. Santa <br />Ana Boulevard, Santa Ana, California 92703 which was approximately 856 feet from the <br />location in which it was recovered. The vehicle had a release of liability to Castro, Dante <br />who has an address of 1500 S. Sudene Street, Fullerton, California 92831. <br />Officer Ruelas #3824 and I cleared the vehicle of any persons and disengaged to <br />observe the vehicle from a distance. After further investigation, we determined to secure <br />the vehicle for evidence. I observed a black baseball hat on the front bench seat of the <br />vehicle with the logo of ³D´Based on my training and experience, I know criminal street <br />JDQJV WR ZHDU LQGLFLD ZKHQ FRPPLWWLQJ FULPHV IRU WKH IXUWKHUDQFH RI WKHLU JDQJ <br />Reference Officer Ruelas¶supplemental report for further information pertaining to <br />surveillance footage in the area. <br />Forensic Specialist G. Garcia #3251 captured photographs and sealed the vehicle for <br />evidence. Reference her supplemental report for further information. <br />At approximately 0950 hours, To¶and Mo¶towed the vehicle from 1506 W. 3rd 6WUHHW <br />Approximately 1000 hours, we arrived to the To¶and Mo¶inside storage lot located at <br />518 N. Poinsettia.
