On 04-08-23, at approximately 0823 hours, Officer Gonzales and I (C. Ruelas) were working in a marked Santa Ana <br />3ROLFH 8QLW :H ZHUH GULYLQJ HDVWERXQG LQ WKH DUHD RI : UG 6WUHHW ZKHQ ZH VDZ D YHKLFOH <br />parked along the north curb line facing westbound. At the beginning of our shift, we learned from Watch-3 Officers <br />about a vehicle was involved in a gang shooting on 04-07-23. I read the report (23-07973) at the beginning of my shift <br />and learned this vehicle had unique damage to the passenger side. The vehicle in this report was described as a two <br />tone Chevrolet SUV with damage to the front passenger side. The vehicle we located matched the description of the <br />VXVSHFW YHKLFOH <br />The vehicle's driver window was rolled down and we did not see anyone inside as we were approaching it. Once the <br />scene was made safe, I began to canvass for surveillance video. See Officer Gonzales' report for details on how we <br />VHFXUHG WKH VXVSHFW YHKLFOH <br />Surveillance Videos <br />The following are locations where surveillance cameras were located. <br />1), VSRNH WR D UHVLGHQW DW ZKR KDG VXUYHLOODQFH FDPHUDV IDFLQJ QRUWK WRZDUGV UG <br />Street. I reviewed the surveillance video but it did not capture anyone exiting or entering the suspect vehicle. The <br />surveillance camera is motion censored and it only activates to a certain distance. In the video, the vehicle is seen <br />stationary with no one around it. At the conclusion of my interview, I sent a link to Evidence.com. At <br />DSSUR[LPDWHO\ KRXUV , UHFHLYHG D FRQILUPDWLRQ WKDW VXEPLWWHG WKH (YLGHQFHFRP YLGHR UHTXHVW <br />The address at () did not have any surveillance cameras. <br />3)7KH DGGUHVV DW KDG D ULQJ FDPHUD EXW LW ZDV RIIOLQH DQG ZDV QRW RSHUDEOH <br />4) located at ) had cameras but did not capture the vehicle in <br />WKH DUHD <br />5) Officer A. Martinez from the Santa Ana School Police was contacted and stated he would check surveillance <br />cameras at (). We did not receive a response from Officer <br />0DUWLQH] 7KLV VFKRRO LV ORFDWHG QRUWK RI ZKHUH WKH VXVSHFW YHKLFOH ZDV ORFDWHG <br />6) It should be noted that there were intersection cameras located at the intersection of Pacific Street and Santa Ana <br />%OYG <br />There were no witnesses or any other surveillance cameras located in the area at the time of my investigation.
