$ EXOOHW FRUH ZDV ORFDWHG ZLWKLQ WKH VXVSHFW<br />V FORWKLQJ 6DQWD $QD 3ROLFH 'HSDUWPHQW &6, )RUHQVLF 6SHFLDOLVW 6 <br />Vazquez #3817 took photographs of the suspect at the hospital. <br />7KH VXVSHFW ZDV VXEVHTXHQWO\ LGHQWLILHG DV 0DUYLQ 5LFDUGR 0HOJDUHMR '2% 0HOJDUHMR ZDV D <br />GRFXPHQWHG %LVKRS 6WUHHW JDQJ PHPEHU ZLWK WKH PRQLNHU RI 6DLQW 0HOJDUHMR KDG SULRU DUUHVWV IRU LOOHJDO ILUHDUPV <br />possession. <br />A female, subsequently identified as (DOB ), arrived on scene and identified Melgarejo as <br />her son. <br />Officer Santaella provided a public safety statement indicating he fired his service weapon six times in a northbound <br />GLUHFWLRQ IURP 5RVHZRRG $YHQXH DQG %LVKRS 6WUHHW 7KHUH ZDV RQH RXWVWDQGLQJ VXVSHFW ZKR ZDV WKH GULYHU RI WKH <br />vehicle and was armed with a handgun. <br />The items at the scene where Melgarejo was located consisted of a cell phone and clothing cut from Melgarejo's <br />person by paramedic personnel. <br />A male identified as (DOB ), who resided at , reported hearing five <br />JXQVKRWV DQG REVHUYLQJ WKH VXVSHFW GLVFDUG DQ LWHP LQWR WKH EDFN\DUG RI D QHLJKERULQJ UHVLGHQFH 6DQWD $QD 3ROLFH <br />Department Patrol Officer M. Marignoli #3858 recovered a black baseball hat with a white "B" logo in the backyard of <br />1048 W. Melnyk, Attorney Corey Glave, Corporal McClasky, and I. <br />Officer Cofer is a member of the Santa Ana Civic Center Patrol Team. Officer Cofer was wearing a blue, long-sleeve <br />polo T-shirt, blue jeans, and black boots. The polo had a printed Santa Ana Police Office badge on the left chest, <br />SULQWHG 6DQWD $QD 3ROLFH SDWFKHV RQ WKH VKRXOGHUV DUHD RI ERWK VOHHYHV DQG WKH ZRUGV 6$17$ $1$ 32/,&( ZULWWHQ <br />on the back of the polo.
