SUSPECT VEHICLE: BLACK 4- DOOR GMC YUKON XL CA-
NARRATIVE:
On 04-13-23 at approximately 0911 hours, I responded to 1501 N. Susan Street, B & D Towing, for a follow-up crime
scene investigation on a shooting call.
The suspect vehicle, a black 4-door GMC Yukon CA- , was located in an inside storage unit at B & D
Towing. I observed the vehicle had yellow evidence seals and they were intact. Exterior photographs were taken of
the vehicle showing the yellow evidence seals in place.
At approximately 0940 hours, I broke the seals of the vehicle and took additional photographs of the interior of the
vehicle and the interior of the vehicle was searched for evidence. There was a black jacket on top of the center
console of the vehicle. There was a ³Modelo Especial´12oz beer can in one of the cup holders of the vehicle. There
was a gray Samsung cell phone located underneath the black jacket. There was clothing and other miscellaneous
items inside the vehicle. The rear right passenger door was jammed. Several attempts to open the door were made
but we were unsuccessful to open the door.
The Samsung cell phone and a charging cable were collected as evidence.
The vehicle was processed for biological evidence and latent prints, which resulted in one latent print lift from the rear
view mirror. The beer can, which had a liquid inside that was less than half full, was processed for biological evidence
and latent prints, which met with negative results for prints. The liquid was disposed of and the beer can was collected
as evidence.
At the station, additional photographs were taken of the Samsung cell phone with the charging cable and of the beer
can. The photographs were uploaded into DIMS. The swabs were dried, packaged accordingly and booked into an
evidence freezer. The cell phone with the charging cable and beer can were packaged and booked into an evidence
locker. The latent lift card was packaged and booked into the latent lift locker in the Forensic Services Section.
It shall be noted that during the incident my department issued Axon 3 body worn camera (BWC) was activated and
recording at certain points in the investigation. For further details refer to the crime report.
FSI Garcia #3251
Watch IB/CSI
Author: Garcia, Gabriela 3251 BWC Activated
Santa Ana PD 2023-07962 Report by Garcia, Gabriela 3251 2 of 2
