This is a supplemental report to document my involvement in the investigation. For further, please refer to the original crime report under the same case number. On 04-07-2023, at approximately 1849 hours, I was working uniformed patrol with Officer M. Marignoli #3858in the City of Santa Ana, County of Orange. On the above date and time, we responded to the area of S Rosewood Ave and W Bishop St in reference to an officer involved shooting that just occurred. Below is a synopsis of my involvement in the investigation. We arrive at the intersection of Rosewood and Bishop at 1849 hours where I saw several Officer conducting a high- risk felony car stop. Sergeant Wharton #2888 directed me to transport Officer Santaella #3770 to the intersection of Shelton and Myrtle. After transporting Officer Santaella, I handed him off to Officer Brodeur #3700. I cleared the at 1854 hours. While on scene I learned that an assault with a deadly weapon (handgun) occurred at this location, in front of 422 S Shelton. That investigation is documented under case number 2023-07973. Suspect Marvin Melgarejo was being treated in room 420 at Orange County Global Medical Center. We later arrived at OCGMC, where we relieved Officers Taroy #3756 and Bland #3753 at 0123 hours and kept custody of Melgarejo. We remained there until relieved by Officer Ramsey #3800.
