On 04/07/2023, at approximately 1849 hours, I Officer Marignoli #3858, and my partner Officer Biebrich #3570, were <br />in full police uniform driving a marked black and white Santa Ana Police Vehicle. We responded to S Rosewood Av/ <br />W Bishop St in reference to a officer involved shooting that just occurred. <br />My department issued axon body worn camera was activated and recording throughout the duration of my contact. All <br />statements below are a summarization of the event. For exact dialogue and sequence of events see BWC footage. <br />This is a supplemental report to document my involvement in the investigation. For further, please refer to the original <br />crime report under the same case number. <br />I responded to an officer involved shooting that just occurred in the area of Bishop and Rosewood. Upon arrival at <br />1849 hours several officers were conducting a high-risk felony car stop. Sergeant Wharton directed me to transport <br />Officer Santaella to the intersection of Shelton and Myrtle. After arriving there I handed off Officer Santaella to Officer <br />Brodeur, clearing the scene at 1854 hours. <br />While on scene I learned that an assault with a deadly weapon (handgun) occurred at this location, in front of 422 S <br />Shelton. That investigation is documented under case number 2023-07973. <br />I responded to Orange County Global Medical Center, where I relieved Officers Taroy and Bland at 0123 hours. I took <br />Custody of suspect Marvin Melgarejo who was being treated in room 420.
