S.A. 12‐022 <br />Investigator: TOM CONKLIN Approved By: <br />Date of Report: 10/03/12 Date:10/03/12 <br />Page 5 of 7 <br />police department, parents looked out their south facing window waiting for the <br />arrival of the police. <br /> As his parents were looking out the window, heard (4) gunshots in rapid <br />succession, and a few seconds later looked out the south facing window. observed the <br />same Jeep he had seen earlier in the day parked in the alley facing north, and a police car (later <br />identified as Unit # 856), facing south with a police officer standing on the drivers side of the <br />police car. <br />The police officer was pointing his handgun toward a male subject walking near the front <br />grill of the Jeep. The subject walked toward unit # 856 then fell to the pavement. could <br />not remember the exact positioning of the subjects hands and did not observe the subject <br />carrying anything. The subject was wearing a short sleeve gray shirt and blue pants. <br />could not remember whether the subject was wearing a hat. also observed a male <br />subject in a wheelchair near the drivers door of the Jeep. said the subject in the <br />wheelchair is homeless and sells meth‐(methamphetamine). <br />During the interview, allowed us to enter their apartment to observe the view he <br />and his parents had from their south facing window. By looking south through the window, we <br />observed a Jeep facing north in the alley, a police vehicle facing north behind the Jeep, and unit <br /># 856 facing south. <br /> said after the shooting his parents started videotaping the police activity by <br />positioning a webcam facing out the window. The webcam was connected to his mothers <br />laptop computer. parents were at the Santa Ana Police Department being <br />interviewed during our contact with . After our interview with , I was informed <br />by OCDA Investigator BERRY via cell phone that both of parents had given their
