Santa Ana PD 2013-17495: Supplemental Report by #2334 Page 14 of 19 Sunday. June 23. 2013 0830 hours 1 received a phone call from Commander Colon # 1969 who advised me that an officer involved shooting had occurred. He requested 1 respond to the Santa Ana Police Department to assist with the investigation. 1022 hours l arrived at the Santa Ana Police Station and met with the other investigators of the Santa Ana Police Department Officer Involved Shooting Team. Sgt Esparza # 1568 gave a briefing to the investigators and informed us that the location of the shooting was 800 S Townsend Street. He designated Detective L. Rodriguez as the case agent and assigned me with a canvass of the neighborhood . 1045 hours l arrived on scene at checked in with Ofc. Ribeiro #3224 who was maintaining the crime scene log. 1050 hours Sergeant Craft #2979 gave a briefing as to the circumstances of the investigation thus far. Also in attendance were members of the Orange County District Attorney's Office Officer Involved Shooting Team and Forensic Specialists from the Orange County Sheriffs Department. I was assigned to assist Orange County District Attorney Investigator Michael Kendrick with a canvass of the neighborhood for witnesses. Investigator Kendrick and I obtained the following statements. 810 S. Raitt Street: 1110 Hours Investigator Kendrick and I contacted the residents at 810 S. Raitt Street. This location is a two story apartment. Apartment # 10 On Sunday June 23, 2013 ,Zayuri Castillo was awakened by approximately five gunshots. Castillo did not witness the shooting incident. On Sunday June 23, 2013 Brenda Castillo was awakened by the sound of approximately five gunshots. Castillo did not witness the shooting incident. On Sunday June 23, 2013 at approximately 0608 hours , Eduardo Lina was in the living room of his apartment when he heard approximately eight gunshots. Lina did not witness the shooting. On Sunday June 23, 2013 Esteher Rivera was sleeping in her living room when she was awakened by the sound of gunshots. Rivera did not witness the shooting incident. Apartment #9 On Sunday June 23, 2013 Francisco Gutierrez was sleeping in his bedroom when he was awakened by the sound of approximately five gunshots. Gutierrez did not witness the shooting incident. On Sunday June 23, 2013 Veronica Moreno was sleeping in her bedroom when she was awakened by the sounds of gunshots.
