Kendrick #257 Approved By: <br />Date of Report: 08-07-13 Date: 08/07/2013 <br />Page 1 of 6 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />CASE NAME: ARELLANO, HANS KEVIN <br />CLASSIFICATION: OFFICER INVOLVED SHOOTING (FATAL) <br />TYPE: INITIAL RESPONSE/CANVASS <br />AGENCY: SANTA ANA POLICE DEPARTMENT <br /> On Tuesday, July 30, 2013, at approximately 1530 hours, Orange County District <br />Attorney Supervising Investigator (OCDA) RANDY LITWIN contacted me regarding an officer <br />involved shooting, involving the Santa Ana Police Department (SAPD). LITWIN requested I <br />respond to 622 South Harbor Blvd in the city of Santa Ana, and assist with the investigation. <br />At approximately 1610 hours, I arrived at the location and met with investigators from <br />the OCDA, and Detectives from SAPD, who were present to assist in the investigation. <br />At approximately 0718 hours, SAPD Acting Sergeant OLIVER GRANT #1500 conducted a <br />briefing of the known circumstances surrounding the incident, for the personnel involved in the <br />investigation. <br />Following the briefing, OCDA Supervising Investigator MARK GUTIERREZ assigned SAPD <br />Detective ANDREW ALVAREZ # 2857 and I to conduct an audio digitally recorded canvass of the <br />area for potential witnesses. ALVAREZ assisted in Spanish translation.
