S.A 13-017 <br />Investigator: ED WOOD Approved By: <br />Date of Report:09/23/2013 Date: 10/02/2013 <br />Page 2 of 2 <br />• DEONE SALDANA Paramedic / Firefighter <br />At approximately 1510 hours, Engine 78 arrived on scene. The area was a “strip mall” in <br />the area of Harbor and McFadden. observed numerous uniformed Santa Ana police <br />officers present and a male patient, later identified as HANS KEVIN ARELLANO. ARELLANO was <br />lying face down on his left side. ARELLANO was rolled over and observed a gunshot <br />wound (GSW) to ARELLANO’s upper chest area. estimated that ARELLANO <br />sustained blood loss of approximately 150cc. ARELLANO’s airway was open but his breathing <br />was absent and he had no blood circulation. <br />An electrocardiogram (EKG) was affixed to ARELLANO and the reading was asystole <br />(Flatline, no cardiac electrical activity). It was determined that ARELLANO was dead on arrival <br />(DOA) of the OCFA. ARELLANO was pronounced at the scene by due to obvious <br />signs of death. ARELLANO was not transported to the hospital. ARELLANO was left at the scene <br />for the care of the Santa Ana Police Department and the Orange County Coroner investigator.
