Believing that may have been the intended target of the shooting, due to the area
within which his family lives as well as the sound of alarm in his mother¶s voice,
immediately exited his home and proceeded to descend the staircase leading to the
courtyard adjoining Evergreen Street and the west alley. At this time, he found the lighting in
the immediate area to be dark with only ambient lighting being supplemented by the light
emitted by laundry room(s) positioned to the rear of the apartment complexes.
As continued his descent, he looked toward the aforementioned alleyway and saw
an officer running northbound toward Edinger Avenue. While continuing to scan the area in
search of saw a male figure, dressed in black clothing, running from the
west alleyway toward his position. He later recognized this person as a long-time
acquaintance he knew by the name of ³Oscar´also stated that he knew Alvarado
to be affiliated with either the Delhi Gang or the NWO crew. By mention of this name, I
believed to be speaking of Alvarado. During Alvarado¶s flight, heard
three (3) additional gunshots and saw a police officer following him while holding a flashlight
and yelling ³Get on the floor!´This officer was clearly identifiable by his clothing/uniform
inclusive of his police vest. By mention of this police officer, I believed Sandoval to be
speaking of Det. Solorio. After the second volley of gunfire, Alvarado fell to the ground and
was immediately contacted by the aforementioned officer. At this time, several residents,
inclusive of mother and immediate family, exited their residence and began to
cause a commotion. These person, however, were later restrained by additional police
presence.
After reaching the base of the above-indicated stairwell, looked toward Evergreen
Street. As he did so, he noted that , in fact, was not the subject/suspect involved in
the OIS, but had been detained by OCPD personnel. While still in his position,
was contacted by Dep. Prob. Officer (DPO) Ibarra and detained at gunpoint. Subsequent to
WKLV GHWHQWLRQ ZDV WDNHQ LQWR FXVWRG\ DQG ODWHU WUDQVSRUWHG WR WKH 6$3' VWDWLRQ
When asked if he saw Alvarado get shot or taken into custody, stated that he did
not. also denied seeing a firearm in Alvarado¶s possession during the entirety of
the incident. He did, however, see Det. Solorio pointing a gun at Alvarado, as he lay on the
ground, while providing the above-indicated commands commands.
At approximately 0104 hours, we concluded our interview with
Investigation continues «
Detective M.
