<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> 10.2 Bereavement Leave. <br /> <br /> A. An employee shall be granted up to three (3) working days leave without loss of <br /> pay in case of death of a member of the employee's immediate family. Such <br /> leave is designated as bereavement leave. "Immediate family" as used in this <br /> section is limited to: <br /> <br /> 1. Any member of the employee's household related by blood or marriage; <br /> <br /> 2. A parent, parent-in-law, stepparent, spouse, child, stepchild, brother, <br /> stepbrother, sister, stepsister, grandparent or grandchild of the employee, <br /> regardless of residence; <br /> <br /> 3. Any other relative of the employee by blood or by marriage where it can <br /> be established by the employee that as a result of such relative's death, the <br /> employee's presence is required to handle funeral arrangements and/or <br /> matters of estate. <br /> <br /> B. An employee may use up to sixteen (16) hours of additional leave charged to their <br /> Personal Necessity Leave balance when authorized by the Department Head. <br /> <br /> 10.3 Military Leave. <br /> <br /> A. Proof of Orders and Reinstatements. An employee shall be granted military leave <br /> if he or she furnishes the Executive Director of Personnel Services satisfactory <br /> proof of his or her order to report for duty. Upon return and upon showing of <br /> proof of actual service pursuant to such orders, he or she will be reinstated as <br /> provided in Section 143 of the Civil Service Rules and Regulations of the City of <br /> Santa Ana. <br /> <br /> B. Temporary. Members of the reserve forces of the United States, or the National <br /> Guard, granted temporary leave when ordered to duty, in accordance with the <br /> Military and Veterans Code, will be granted leave with pay not to exceed thirty <br /> (30) calendar days in each calendar year after one (1) year's service with the City <br /> upon presenting satisfactory proof of orders to and from such temporary active <br /> duties. <br /> <br /> 10.4 Jury and Witness Leave. When an on-duty employee is called to serve as a juror or non- <br /> party witness in any court action, he or she shall be allowed to leave for the time actually <br /> required for such service without loss of pay. Each on-duty employee called for such <br /> service shall present to his or her Department Head for examination the subpoena calling <br /> him or her to such service and shall pay into the City Treasury the fees collected for such <br /> service, with the exception of reimbursement for transportation expenses, if any. <br /> <br /> 10.5 Examination Leave. Employees participating in examinations conducted during their <br /> normal working hours for positions in the competitive service of the City of Santa Ana <br /> <br /> <br /> 47 <br /> 25F-49 <br />
