NO. 07 -069) <br />CITY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />❑ As Recommended <br />❑ As Amended <br />❑ Ordinance on 15t Reading <br />❑ Ordinance on 2nd Reading <br />❑ Implementing Resolution <br />❑ Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Renew the contracts for chemicals for a one -year period in the annual amount as follows: <br />Vendor: <br />Crop Production Services, Inc. <br />Waterline Technologies, Inc. <br />DISCUSSION <br />Location: Amount: <br />Santa Ana $35,000 <br />Santa Ana $28,000 <br />The Parks, Recreation and Community Services Agency and the Public Works Agency require <br />chemicals to disinfect public swimming pools, water fountains, park lakes, sewer system, and <br />water wells throughout the City. The chemicals are purchased through the Central Stores <br />warehouse for distribution to the agencies. The contracts for chemicals are designed to provide <br />quality products at significant savings based on quantity pricing, as well as miscellaneous items. <br />On September 4, 2007, the City Council awarded contracts to the listed companies, both Santa <br />Ana vendors, for a one -year period with provision for three, one -year renewals. The vendors <br />have performed satisfactorily during the past contract period and have agreed to renew the <br />contracts without an increase in pricing. Staff recommends the final renewal of the contracts. <br />Annual amounts are based upon past usage and staff's projection for the next year. <br />2201-1 <br />
