Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Authorize the Public Works Agency to send Request for Proposals to qualified consulting firms to <br />provide right-of-way services for Capital Improvement Projects. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Public Works Agency (PWA) oversees the right-of-way (ROW) acquisition for a variety of <br />street widening projects budgeted included the Capital Improvement Program (CIP). Several <br />current and future CIP projects are scheduled for widening such as: Bristol Street and Grand <br />Avenue. <br />Acquisition, relocation and other ROW related services are provided by the professional <br />consultants specialized in those fields. PWA has contracted with these firms annually to provide <br />the City with assistance in obtaining the necessary ROW for the CIP projects. The current <br />contracts will expire shortly and PWA needs to issue request for proposals (RFP) to qualified firms <br />in these specialty areas in order to acquire the necessary right-of-way for CIP projects and to meet <br />the State and Federal regulations. <br />Following is the list of separate RFP's proposed for the needed ROW services: <br />Project Management & Oversight <br />Property Appraisal <br />Acquisition, Relocation & Property Management <br />Furniture, Fixtures and Equipment Appraisal <br />Business Goodwill Appraisal <br />Environmental Assessment <br />Demolition <br />Surveying and Mapping <br />Staff is recommending approval to issue RFP's to qualified firms. <br />19H-1
