Resolution and Ordinance Adopting <br />Updated California and International <br />Building and Fire Codes <br />October 18, 2010 <br />Page 2 <br />The construction codes proposed for adoption by reference with amendments include the <br />following: <br />2010 California Building Code <br />2010 California Residential Code <br />2010 California Green Building Standards Code <br />2010 California Electrical Code <br />2010 California Mechanical Code <br />2010 California Plumbing Code <br />2010 California Fire Code <br />2010 California Existing Building Code <br />2009 International Property Maintenance Code <br />2009 Uniform Swimming Pool, Spa and Hot Tub Code <br />2009 Uniform Solar Energy Code <br />The Planning 8? Building Agency and Fire Department are recommending that certain changes and <br />modifications be made to the 2010 Editions of the California Building, Residential, Green <br />Standards, Plumbing, Mechanical, Electrical, Fire, and Existing Building Codes that are reasonably <br />necessary due to local conditions in the City of Santa Ana. Other modifications are of an <br />administrative or procedural nature and concern themselves with subjects that are not covered by <br />the Codes or are reasonably necessary to safeguard life and property within the City of Santa Ana. <br />There are a total of 20 findings in the Resolution which address two amendments to the Electrical <br />Code, one amendment to the Mechanical Code, seven amendments to the Plumbing Code, six <br />amendments to the Fire Code, and four amendments to the Building Code (see Exhibit 1 ). <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />There is no fiscal impact associated with this action. <br />Ja .Trevino <br />Executive Director <br />Planning 8?
