NO 10 -042) <br />CITY MANAGER <br />RECOMMENDED ACTION <br />CLERK OF COUNCIL USE ONLY: <br />APPROVED <br />❑ As Recommended <br />❑ As Amended <br />❑ Ordinance on 1" Reading <br />❑ Ordinance on 2 "d Reading <br />❑ Implementing Resolution <br />❑ Set Public Hearing For_ <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Renew the contract with Proforce Law Enforcement for the purchase of Glock firearms, X26 <br />tasers, and accessories for a one year period in an annual amount not to exceed $85,000. <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Santa Ana Police Department utilizes Glock- manufactured firearms as standard issue side <br />arms. The Glock firearms allow for standardization in training and ammunition magazine <br />interchangeability between officers. Additionally, the police department purchases X26 tasers and <br />taser cartridges for use by officers. On May 5, 2008, the City Council awarded a contract to <br />Proforce Law Enforcement for a two -year period with provision for three one -year renewals. The <br />vendor has performed satisfactorily during the contract period and has agreed to renew the <br />contract without an increase in pricing. Staff recommends the first renewal option of the contract. <br />FISCAL IMPACT <br />Funds are available in the Police Property and Facilities account (no. 01114450- 63001). <br />��L-L <br />Paul M.
