Award a contract to R_.T_ Noble Company, the lowest responsible <br />bidder, in accordance with unit bid prices for the base bid plus add- <br />on alternate one in the estimated amount of $3,707,956.48 for <br />construction of Residential Street Repair Phase 10_ <br />2. Approve a Funding Analysis with a total estimated construction cost <br />of $4,448,000. <br />DISCUSSION <br />This project is part of the City's $100 million investment to rebuild <br />neighborhood streets throughout the City_ Segments of local streets <br />located south of McFadden Avenue and east of Bristol Street have bean <br />identified as a high priority for rehabilitation in the City's Pavement <br />Management System (Exhibit 1) The pavement is deteriorating due to <br />weather, age and heavy usage. Some of the adjacent curbs, gutters, <br />sidewalks, cross gutters and wheelchair ramps are also in various states <br />of disrepair and require replacement_ <br />The project provides for recycling of existing asphalt pavement with the <br />cement treated base process and replacement of damaged concrete curbs, <br />gutters, sidewalks, and curb ramps. Once completed, these improvements <br />will enhance the ride quality, surface drainage and visual appearance of <br />the neighborhood. <br />The Notice Inviting Bids was advertised on October 28 and 30, 2009, and <br />bids were opened on November 9, 2009_ A summary of the bid invitations <br />mailed, the bids received, and the bid results follows.
