• Wished all a Happy Halloween. <br />Councilmember Sarmiento: <br />• Thanked all who came to address the council and staff for <br />presentations; <br />• Downtown incident over the weekend dismayed success of Fiestas <br />Patrias held the previous weekend that was uneventful with respect to <br />arrests; and <br />• Mayor Pro Tern Alvarez, Councilmember Martinez, Public Works <br />Director Godinez, and Parks Director Mouet attended water tour; <br />discussed water conservation efforts; thanked representative Dan Griset <br />for organizing tour. <br />Councilmember Martinez: <br />• Attended 2"d water tour; thanked all those that attended; learned about <br />disrepair of levy and importance of bond measures; <br />• Santa Ana resident, Adam Hurtado, is taking part in "The Biggest <br />Loser"; encouraged all to watch and support his efforts; <br />• Encouraged residents to support Proposition 22, on the November <br />Election Ballot; <br />• Asked the City Manager to provide update at next meeting on graffiti <br />and shopping cart improvements, and financial deficit; and <br />• Noted that she had previously requested council to support sunshine <br />ordinance; City has already taken measures to post council and staff <br />salary information on the web; and working on other cost effective <br />measures to continue transparency efforts. <br />Councilmember Bustamante: <br />• Attended Downtown monthly event on Saturday; <br />• Thanked police for rapid response to incident over the weekend; <br />• Cooper Door is new restaurant in Downtown; encouraged all to visit; <br />and <br />• Wished all a Happy Halloween and be safe. <br />Mayor Pulido: <br />• Meeting in downtown was productive; will be making improvements in <br />the area and parking garages; City and staff will follow up and continue <br />to encourage investments; and <br />• Proposition 22 supported by many Mayors throughout the State and <br />encouraged all to support. <br />ADJOURNED- 9:37 P.M. - The next meeting of the City Council is scheduled for <br />Monday, October 18, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. for the Closed Session <br />Meeting immediately followed by the Regular Business Meeting in <br />the Police Community Room, 60 Civic Center Plaza, Santa Ana, <br />California. <br />CITY COUNCIL MINUTES 16 OCTOBER 4, 2010 <br />
