<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> ARTICLE X <br /> <br /> 10.0 VACATION <br /> <br /> <br /> 10.1 Purpose. It is the policy of the City to grant employees vacation leave in <br /> order to provide them with a break in their regular work schedule and this <br /> purpose shall be used as a guide in the administration of the provisions of this <br /> Article. <br /> <br /> 10.2 Regular Vacation Period. <br /> <br /> A. Full-time permanent and probationary employees covered by this <br /> Agreement shall be granted regular vacation at the rate of ten (10) <br /> working days for each of his or her first and second completed year of <br /> service, accrued at the rate of six and two-thirds (6 2/3) hours for each <br /> completed month of service. Thereafter, all such employees shall be <br /> granted regular vacation at the rate of fifteen (15) working days for <br /> each completed year of service, accrued at the rate of ten (10) <br /> working hours for each completed month of service. <br /> <br /> B. An employee who has completed less than one year's service during <br /> the calendar year shall receive a proportionate fraction in <br /> accordance with the amount of service to his or her credit during the <br /> year; provided, however, no employee shall be entitled to, or receive <br /> payment for, any vacation until he or she has completed six (6) months <br /> <br /> of continuous service. <br /> <br /> C. On or after the first (1 St) day of the month following completion of six (6) <br /> months of continuous full-time service, an employee may be allowed <br /> to take all or a proportionate fraction of his or her earned vacation, <br /> subject to scheduling approval of the employee's supervisor. <br /> <br /> D. Vacation time off may be taken in increments as small as one-half (1/2) <br /> hour, with fractional usage rounded upward to the next higher <br /> multiple of one-half (1/2). <br /> <br /> E. Upon completion of two (2) years of continuous service, each <br /> employee must take at least five (5) consecutive working days of <br /> vacation each year thereafter. <br /> <br /> F. Computation of Regular Vacation. <br /> <br /> 1.
