<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> ARTICLE IV <br /> <br /> 4.0 ATTENDANCE, WORKDAY & WORKWEEK <br /> <br /> 4.1 Attendance. Employees covered by this Agreement shall be in attendance <br /> at their work during hours prescribed by the Department Head or his/her <br /> designee(s) and shall not absent themselves without approval of the <br /> Department Head or his/her designee(s). <br /> <br /> 4.2 Hours of Work. Eight (8) hours of work shall constitute a normal workday and <br /> forty (40) hours of work shall constitute a minimum workweek, except for <br /> employees for whom special schedules have been approved by the City <br /> Manager. <br /> <br /> A. 4/10 Work Schedule. The Department Head, with the approval of the <br /> City Manager, may assign employees to a workweek consisting of four <br /> (4) ten-hour (10-hour) days with an additional one-half (1 /2) or one (1) <br /> hour for unpaid lunch, as negotiated with CASA. The assigned <br /> employee shall work four (4) ten (10) hour days and shall have three <br /> (3) consecutive days off in a workweek. Upon mutual agreement <br /> between the supervisor and employee, the employee may waive his <br /> or her right to three (3) consecutive days off in a workweek. The <br /> regular workweek shall consist of forty (40) hours. A regular day off <br /> shall consist of ten (10) hours. <br /> <br /> <br /> B. 9/80 Work Schedule. The work schedule described below is known as <br /> the "9/80" work schedule. The "9/80" work schedule is designed to be <br /> in compliance with the requirements of the Fair Labor Standards Act <br /> (FLSA). In the event that there is a conflict with the current rules, <br /> practices and/or procedures regarding work schedules and leave <br /> plans, then the rules listed below shall govern. <br /> <br /> Employees shall be permitted to work a "9/80" work schedule when <br /> authorized by the Department Head and approved by the City <br /> Manager. A departmental work unit shall not be permitted to work this <br /> schedule if in the discretion of the Department Head and City <br /> Manager, the "9/80" work schedule may reduce service to the public. <br /> <br /> 1. "9/80" Work Schedule Defined. The "9/80" work schedule shall <br /> be defined as working eighty hours (80) over nine (9) days in a <br /> two-week period.
