• <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2003-10 <br />Lss 04/01 /03 <br />A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF <br />THE CITY OF SANTA ANA APPROVING CONDITIONAL <br />USE PERMIT NO. 2003-05 TO ALLOW THE <br />CONSTRUCTION OF A CHURCH FACILITY AT 288 <br />SOUTH HARBOR BOULEVARD <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />SANTA ANA AS FOLLOWS: <br />Section 1. The Planning Commission of the City of Santa Ana hereby finds, <br />determines and declares as follows: <br />A. Conditional Use Permit No. 2003-05 came before the Planning <br />Commission of the City of Santa Ana for a duly noticed public hearing on <br />March 24, 2003. <br />• B. The applicant is requesting approval of Conditional Use Permit No. 2003- <br />05 to allow the construction of a 1,900-seat sanctuary and ancillary church <br />facilities. <br />C. Santa Ana Municipal Code Section 41-638 authorizes the Planning <br />Commission to grant a conditional use permit upon making certain <br />findings. <br />1. Will the Catholic Church provide a service or facility which will <br />contribute to the general well being of the neighborhood or the <br />community? <br />The proposed church and parish facility, as conditioned, will <br />provide community service and ministries contributing to the <br />long-term success of the neighborhood. The Diocese of <br />Orange has identified a substantial need for an additional <br />church in west Santa Ana. Conditions of approval have <br />been developed in order to mitigate potential impacts of a <br />church on this site. These include the limiting of facility use <br />on the premises to ensure shared parking and upgrade of <br />the site to meet or exceed development standards. <br />• <br />Resolution No. 2003-10 <br />Page 1 of 5 <br />
