As Recommended <br />0 As Amended <br />(] Ordinance on 1?` Reading <br />0 Ordinance on 2"d Reading <br />0 Implementing Resolution <br />0 Set Public Hearing For <br />CONTINUED TO <br />FILE NUMBER <br />Award a contract to Commercial Door of Orange County, Inc. for overhead door maintenance for <br />a one-year period with provision for three, one-year renewals in an annual amount not to exceed <br />$30,000_ <br />DISCUSSION <br />The Santa Ana Fire Department utilizes various overhead doors that require maintenance and <br />repair. Currently, at the 10 fire stations there are 37 front and rear apparatus room overhead <br />doors of various sizes, types and ages. The Fire Department maintenance schedule requires a <br />bi-annual inspection and service for all apparatus room overhead doors. Throughout the year, the <br />department incurs repair, parts replacement and labor costs for the overhead doors as well as <br />man-doors in all fire facilities. A preventative maintenance contract is essential to ensure full <br />function and response at all times. The contract provides for regularly scheduled maintenance, <br />and 24-hour emergency repair response as well as miscellaneous repairs and parts. <br />The Request for Proposal was issued on September 13, 2010 and proposals were solicited. A <br />summary of the request for Proposal and proposals received is as follows. <br />5 Request for Proposal sent. <br />2 Request for Proposal sent to Santa Ana vendors <br />5 Proposals received <br />2 Proposals received from Santa Ana vendors. <br />The proposals were solicited, opened and evaluated by a staff committee for experience, cost, <br />and level of services proposed. Staff's evaluation determined that Commercial Door of Orange <br />County, Inc.'s proposal is responsive to the specification and meets the City's requirements. <br />22B-1
