Set Public Hearing For <br /> CONTINUED TO <br /> l <br /> FILE NUMBER <br /> CITY MANAGER <br /> <br /> RECOMMENDED ACTION <br /> <br /> Increase the contingency for the contract with All American Asphalt for the Bristol Street <br /> Widening Project by $200,000 to a total estimated contract amount of $10,178,904 and <br /> authorize the City Manager to execute change orders up to the contingency amount. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> DISCUSSION <br /> <br /> On May 4, 2009, the City Council awarded a contract for the Bristol Street Widening Project to <br /> All American Asphalt in the estimated amount of $8,315,754 plus a contingency of $1,663,150 <br /> totaling $9,978,904. <br /> <br /> While constructing Bristol Street, several unforeseen conditions have exhausted the approved <br /> contingency; consequently, additional funds are required to complete the work. The work <br /> includes revising the striping plan to include a bike lane on Bristol Street between Cubbon and <br /> Walnut Streets, adding new conduit to preserve the link between the traffic signals in the area <br /> and the traffic management center, constructing new sidewalk at intersecting streets and <br /> retaining curb, and repairing existing block wall to match the new adjacent improvements and <br /> street asphalt sections. <br /> ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT <br /> <br /> This is no environmental impact associated with this action. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> 23A-1 <br />
